Scull in progress

This oil piece is almost done. I am finishing just one more corner and than possibly framing! I am happy with the scull but I can admit I need a little more work on alla prima roses!

Have a great day! :)

New Casa

Well hello everyone! I have been away from my blogger for some time but I am back and to show you a little of what I have been doing recently! I am now a house renter! Ha yes I rent a house in Tempe, AZ! Its really fun being down in a city again, lots of things happening down here! I acquired another bedroom so now I actually have space to do my art and have natural light. My first painting I did is an oil illustration of my house! So no stalking please ;) Enjoy!

A Forever Friend

reference picture on right
I was commissioned by my sister to paint a portrait of their dear friend's dog. I was excited to do it and I finished that night! A few months later the dog passed away. I am grateful to have an impact and help them remember their beloved companion and friend. I don't know where I would be without my furry friend either!

I would love to capture your pet or a pet you may know! Contact me by email about prices, sizes, paint or graphite.

Kitten.

I recently did a portrait of a cat! I love the colors, how the picture gave contrast, good shapes and the movement for an alla prima type painting. This cat was my sister's friends cat and she grew up with this cute feline!
I told her I want to paint her picture that she took, I than produced it. I sent a picture to my sister to show her what she thought about it. She enjoyed it but she told me that her cat died not that long ago. I felt horrible but I turned that emotion around and wanted to give this painting to her. My sister supported me by buying the painting to give to her, which was a blessing.
It was an amazing experience.
Produce random painting and bless someone else's life.
She said she was thrilled to get the surprise package! I hope she enjoys!

Alla Prima Skull

I recently painted an owl skull for a birthday present for a very special person. This was a challenge for me because I rarely even do dark items. Plus I haven't drawn a skull since my first year of college in life drawing. I was really pleased how it came out. The whole piece is the owl skull (off centered) with dark bats in the background. The bats are intentionally hidden so they are very hard to see from a picture.
