So if you follow my blog or know me you know that I love birds and owls! So I found these owl figurines at a thrift store and I have seen the DIY coloring. So I decided to re-vamp them! They go better in the home. Pretty excited. Love making my own touches in my house besides buying expensive stuff! All about the creativity and not being afraid to try anything! Ha Well enjoy and maybe try it yourself with anything you like!

Back to Basics
So I recently just moved to the west coast to Arizona! Home of the "who turned on the oven?" state especially in the summers. Everything went well and fell into place. Well when you know people things happen :) But hey I did learn that in college.
So on our way I will share we did a few tourist things like going to Bearizona where you can drive in I think 3 miles of natural habitat of bears, wolves, bison and a few other animals right by your car door. Pretty cool. Since I am in love with animals and especially wolves and owls I got a pretty close encounter which was amazing.

Well now Matt and I have been here for about three weeks and we are liking it! Just got our apartment. Check out our new and improved collage.
We also went to First Friday where local artists display there art in downtown Phoenix in shops, galleries, restaurants, and outside! Can not wait to participate soon! So look for that in the future!
Have a great day!

A little bit of this & a little bit of that!
I love how little things here and there just perk up your imagination every minute of the day! I have had this T-shirt for years that has a quote on it that I will never forget. For one I am really not big on displaying sayings or anything on shirts anymore, but it inspired me to make something I can print out and possibly put into a frame one day!
Quote: "Art inspires Life inspires Art inspires Me"
What else inspires me is mixing old with the new. I am in love with vintage and antiques but making them work with modern as well. Frames have been my obsession lately! Every time I see one in my view (particularly antique or old looking) I have to check it out! Garage sales, consignment shops, and Goodwill have been my friend to find frames nobody else has.
Cork board: Frame with fabric and cork behind
Another obsession that I don't think I will grow out of for some time are OWLS! I love drawing them and I love anything with them usually. Just ask my close friends and family.
Well here is my latest...
Well I could not be any happier with life right now! Thank you for checking out my creations!
Have a wonderful day!

Just this past week I got in touch with a beautiful boutique called Tootie & Tallulah's in Berkley, MI. This boutique's unique atmosphere ranges from antiques, refurbished furniture, local art, house ware, jewelry, gifts and more!
I am honored to have my art in this quaint boutique in Berkley!
What's there?
4 oil illustrations in vintage frames
A lot of dictionary/vintage domino magnets (good for gifts) :)
Coasters with decoupaged dictionary pages (not featured)
Some photos I took while I was there! I could of stayed in there for hours looking at everything!
In other news! I am back in Grand Rapids for the month of July, but than I am making the move to Arizona in August! Very exciting and I can't hardly wait!
Well enjoy your week! :)

Second art show & a surprise!
My second art show at the Ella Sharp Museum was alright. It turned out to be a beautiful day! Matt and I got there early to set up the tent and make sure everything was in it's place until the festival started at 11am. The day went on and it seemed as if the wine & art festival was more a wine and beer festival and the art was just a pleasant entertainment to look at. I guess I can't speak for all the artist because it seemed that the lady's next to us were selling jewelry pretty well, but I did ok and I will hopefully do better next time! I am hoping Arizona will be a good place to sell animal illustrations! :)
On a better note I had a pleasant surprise from my sister, Amber, who made my weekend and day even better! Thank you to my Mom and Dad who came as well! They would never miss a show!
Well enjoy some pictures!

Kitten.
I recently did a portrait of a cat! I love the colors, how the picture gave contrast, good shapes and the movement for an alla prima type painting. This cat was my sister's friends cat and she grew up with this cute feline!
I told her I want to paint her picture that she took, I than produced it. I sent a picture to my sister to show her what she thought about it. She enjoyed it but she told me that her cat died not that long ago. I felt horrible but I turned that emotion around and wanted to give this painting to her. My sister supported me by buying the painting to give to her, which was a blessing.
It was an amazing experience.
Produce random painting and bless someone else's life.
She said she was thrilled to get the surprise package! I hope she enjoys!

Natural Beauty
Yes, I do admit I love birds, owls, and nature! And I have been in love with these natural wood pieces for decoupages and drawings. Take a look!
| adding color soon! |
I just enjoy working with natural mediums because it has it's own natural beauty. Even using the recycled paper gives another dimension of something we may use everyday but didn't know we can make new stuff with it anytime!

Dreams could come true...
My dream is to move somewhere warm, such as Arizona. I have lived there for a summer but want to go back! I had both of my sisters living there when I was there but one recently moved, but my oldest sister is still out there with her own family! My two darling nephews are so dang cute! I want to be there with them!
My boyfriend, Matt, lived there for a year as well and we have been discussing if it would be ideal to go back out there! Pretty much the only thing here in MI is our parents and some friends, but as much as we love them and would miss them we are young and want to explore! We both don't care for the winter either.
The beauty of art is that I can produce it anywhere and I want to be somewhere inspiring! Somewhere I can be in nature all the time and enjoy it!
So that is one goal I am trying to live out next! Time will tell...
